Reconstructive urology restores normal function after injury, infection or previous surgery. These are among the most technically demanding urological operations and are planned meticulously with imaging and endoscopy beforehand.

Treatment options
Anastomotic urethroplasty
Excision of the narrowed segment and re-joining for short bulbar strictures.
BMG urethroplasty
Graft taken from the inner cheek to widen long strictures — high long-term success.
VVF repair
Vaginal or abdominal repair of a vesico-vaginal fistula to restore continence.
Sacrocolpopexy
Mesh suspension for vaginal vault prolapse.
Recovery
Urethroplasty needs a catheter for two to three weeks, confirmed by a check X-ray before removal. Cheek graft discomfort settles within a week. Full recovery in four to six weeks.
